recently i'v been reading this one fb posts, shared by my friends about dressin' up.
the post was written by an image consultant (i think).
he was making a statement of how awful lady officers dressed up at the office, compared to lady clerks.
according to him, some clerks are looking even more presentable than officers.
wearing make ups, wearing nice fancy clothes.
while there are some officers wearing super huge outfits, jubah and so on, which for him is not suitable to represent an organisation, especially in meetings/events.

i know what he meant.
during my 10 years of this humble working experience,
i did encounter a few PAs, clerks, that dressed to kill.
their make ups.. i just couldn't guess how many hours they spent for it.
yes they were very serious on looking presentable. they even wore those fake eyelashes as part of their make ups.
and us the officers?
we were working our ass off at the office, until night.
wearing the right kurung.
sometimes we went home and went back again to the office with just shirt and jeans.
i myself even had my backpack on me,
and i always got this questions "why are you wearing a back pack?" and "what's in the back pack?"
i guess people don't appreciate the back pack thing.. where i put my lappie and stuff.
very convenient.
i just love looking different and may be looking more like a technical team (google people LOL), rather than a mundane officer or someone that is working at wall street (briefcase and stuff, no fun at all).

but i will dress well and wear a more presentable make up if there are meetings or programs that need me to meet other people, in and outside the organisation.
because most of the time, i just sit in my office room and doing my work.
i wear the kurung, the blouse or skirts, just like normal.
but that doesn't mean i look 'sloppy'. no.
i just not into thick make ups on normal days like those PAs and clerks that being exemplified by that guy.. the image consultant.

for me dressed well at the office means:

1. you're wearing the right sized garment - not too big, not too small, AND syariah compliance.

2. you don't look like you're just waking up from a nightmare or a long hibernation :DDD

3. yes you may wear make ups, but not like you're walking the red carpet. what's with the thick make ups and fake eyelashes??

4.  good outfits does not mean the over-glamorous ones; like too glittery, too furry, too shiny and the list goes on. we're not going to a grand wedding, do we?

5. carry the right bags (i can't comply this. haha. it's just my style) and wear the right shoes.

i would love to add the right body,
which i think tall, slim people looking more presentable in their outfits.
(i'm not tall HAHA)
macam model lah, kurus tinggi.
but we cannot control; sometimes, this height, this weight are there for a reason.
may be our family DNA doesn't get you the model type-height.
or may be a mother needs to eat a lot (and be plumpy) to bf her child.
who knows.
but if it's beyond your control;
like you can exercise and eat the right food to get slimmer, then you can go for it.
i always think that slim people looks better in any outfit.
not condemning un-slim people.. but that was just my personal thought.
it's up to an individual either they want to work it out to be slimmer or not. your choice.

i think that's all for now.
i will dress according to what makes me comfy,
and not dress to kill at the office, just to satisfy other people's eyes.
but i will not looking sloppy either.
just moderate.
hope you too (especially ladies. do NOT over doing it).

toodles!
